Richmond Police said they’ve seen a spike in home burglaries and car break-ins. Many people living in The Fan have found fliers in their doors this week, warning about an increase in break-ins. Nearly a dozen burglaries have been reported along Monument and West Grace Streets in the last month.

Lt.Erlan E. Marshall’s Sector 313 April report (PDF) is now available for all points between Harrison and Boulevard: “Property crime once again continues to be the driving force in Sector 313.”

Citizens need to be aware of their surroundings and provide a hardened target. Do not allow yourself to become a victim. Within the past 28 days Sector 313 had twelve (12) Thefts from motor vehicles. Items were left in plain view. All of those occurred in the Fan (see the map above). Please remove your valuables from your vehicles. Do not allow this to happen to you.

Nine (9) residential burglaries were reported. Seven (7) burglaries occurred in the Fan area, and two (2) in the Randolph area.

My darling bicycle Ship Wreck Kelly has gone missing from my apartment as of last night

If anyone in Richmond happens to see a black steel lugged 1983 Nishiki “Olympic 12″ bicycle with yellow accents, single speed with black fenders, riser bars with black grips, a yellow leather saddle, and a huge XL “Wald” metal basket on the front please let me know.

It has a Mass Movement of the Moth Sticker on the dropouts, and a “Fabric Horse”, “King Kog”, and Museum of the Confederacy sticker on the down tube. It also sported a rusty bell with a squirrel on it. Please let me know if you see this bike around anywhere.

This bike has survived two car crashes and has served as my best friend and adventure buddy since I bought it off Ebay when i was 13. Keep a look out! thanks so much.

VCU police said the victim, who was not a student, was robbed at the corner of Pine and Grace streets around 9:20 a.m. Official said the victim and suspect were walking past each other, the suspect asked to speak with the victim. Cops then said the suspect pointed a small black handgun at the victim, and demanded they hand over everything.

Virginia Commonwealth University Police are asking for the public’s help to find six persons of interest in connection with a VCU student’s assault. Police said the student was assaulted outside of the Gladding Residence Center around 3 a.m. on March 25.

Some of you may have heard and read the press articles, but we will state here (for our Facebook followers) that one of the paintings was stolen on Monument 2 nights ago. The piece was painted by Elizabeth (Lizzie) Gray, one of the six adult artists who led this project.

He had a deep voice and a tattoo of three stars on his neck. The suspect was last seen traveling toward Harrison Street.

The Richmond Police Department is investigating the complaint, which was reported around 10:50 p.m. Students are asked to be award of their surroundings, report suspicious activity to police and use the campus esport service. Fourth Precinct Officer Nicholas Castrinos recently responded to North Lombardy Street for a report of a moped theft. He spoke with the victim, gathered information and then began to circulate the area looking for the thief. They spotted a man with the moped and arrested him, but they received information that led them to search for a second suspect. With the assistance of Detective Patrick Mansfield and VCU Police Department Officer John Pelosky, they spotted and arrested the second person involved.

Investigators said three male suspects approached the student on S. Harrison Street shortly after 11:30 p.m. on the bridge to Richmond’s Randolph neighborhood, [...] About ten minutes later, a male and a female victim were robbed a few blocks away, at Granby and Cary Streets

some drunk person in a Red Jeep with a black top went the wrong way down a one way street at midnight last night and smashed into my car, putting it on the curb and ruining my front end/passenger side. does ANYONE have ANY idea of who could have done this?

I’ve filed a police report, and all we know is that it was a red Jeep with a black top going we think the wrong way down the 200 block of Mulberry around midnight last night. any info would be really helpful, as I only have liability insurance and I’m pretty much F’d now.

They even pushed me back touching the bumper of the car parked behind me and I can’t move my car because the axle is broken or something… :(
