The unassuming, almost hidden Akida is no secret around town. But as Richmond finds itself in the midst of a proper autumn I prefer something a bit warmer than the average maki roll or nigiri. Chicken udon soup ($9.95) is the solution with sliced chicken, thick noodles, and plenty of veggies in a generous bowl of broth. It’s comforting chicken noodle soup, by way of Japan.
