At Main and Rowland

I’m curious to know who decides where to paint these murals? I live near Sidewalk Cafe where the second mural posted here is being created. Why this building? It is already painted in beautiful solid colors to accentuate the historical architecture. The work is clearly awesome, but it kind of cheapens the architectural appeal that this building already has. There is also a giant one directly across the street. I always assumed the role of mural art like this is to bring beauty to a place that needs it.
I think defining this type of art as beauty is a stretch. While striking. Is this something you’ll be content to look at for the next 5 or 10 years?
