3 more robberies near VCU

There were 3 robberies within an hour near VCU last night: one on the 1000 block of Grove Avenue, and 2 on Clay Street in Carver.

The Historic Jackson Ward Association will be hosting a public meeting tonight on the recent crime near campus and in the Jackson Ward area:

The second half of the meeting will begin about 6:45 and be devoted to the recent spike in crime around Jackson Ward and VCU. There were at least 15 assaults and armed robberies in September. Last week there was a murder on Marshall Street, a stabbing behind City Hall and 6 more assaults or robberies on Monday alone. The meeting is open to the public. Anyone interested is invited to attend.
