Louis Briel retrospective opens Friday at Glave Kocen

FACE IT! Louis Briel, A Fifty Year Retrospective opens this Friday, February 4 from 6-9PM at Glave Kocen Gallery.

A Native Virginian, Louis Briel is a member of the American Society of Portrait Artists and has refined his portrait style through studies, residencies, and fifty years of prolific painting. His acrylic paintings show influence from artists as varied as Raphael and Picasso, and his subjects include cherished loved ones, government officials, beloved pets and American heroes, among others. Visitors are invited to attend Face to Face: Louis Briel and Scott Campbell, an unrehearsed conversation on February 5 at 11:00 am, and Portraits as Intuitive History, a gallery talk by Louis Briel, on February 19 at 11:00 am.
