Taste the Blood of Frankenstein, Nosferatu: Phantom der Nacht at VisArts

A double dose of horror with Taste the Blood of Frankenstein and Nosferatu: Phantom der Nacht at VisArts this Friday evening.

In addition to the gallery exhibition and the student photography exhibition in the Dominion Room, we will feature several films on Friday, January 7. We’ll start at 6:30 PM with some animated shorts, some of which may have been created in our own little animation studio. Then at 7 we’ll show Taste the Blood of Frankenstein (2010; 23 min.), directed by Visarts film instructor Eric Miller. Last on the bill is Werner Herzog’s Nosferatu: Phantom der Nacht (1979, 107 min.). In this contemplative version of the vampire tale, Count Dracula (Klaus Kinski) moves to Virna after Jonathan Harker (Bruno Ganz) visits, hoping to sell him a house in Virna, where he lives. Inspired by a photograph of Lucy Harker (Isabelle Adjani), Jonathan’s wife, Dracula arrives, bringing with him death and plague.
