Property Crime: 10% decrease 12/2010 vs. 12/2009 – sixty-four (64) crimes vs. seventy-one (71) crimes

Major Crime: 12% decrease 12/2010 vs. 12/2009 – sixty-nine (69) crimes vs. seventy-eight (78) crimes

The locations and suspect descriptions involving the two (2) robberies of individuals that occurred in December are listed below:

Monday, December 20, 2010, 10:30 PM
600 S. Meadow Street
The victim had just gotten off the bus and was walking on the sidewalk carrying his groceries when he was approached by the suspect who said, “Give me your money or the bag.” The victim refused and the suspect punched the victim in the head causing him to fall on the ground. The suspect then snatched the cell phone from the victim’s and stole his grocery bag. After the robbery the suspect fled on foot west toward Byrd Park.

Suspect:
B/M, 45-50 years old, 5’5 – 5’10”, 190-200 pounds last seen wearing: a black baseball cap, black leather coat and khaki pants

Friday, December 24, 2010, 1:10 AM
200 N. Robinson Street
The victim was standing in the rear alley when the suspect approached him from behind, placed a weapon against his back and demanded his money. The victim gave the suspect his wallet. After the robbery the suspect ran eastbound in the alley.

Suspect:
Possibly armed w/ a handgun B/M, 20-25 years old, 5’8 – 6’0”, 190-200 pounds last seen wearing: black, hooded sweatshirt (no further description available)
