Wolf-dog Law
The following comes from John Gilbody, FDA Safety Committee Chair:
“The Richmond City Council passed an ordinance regulating wolf/dog hybrids this week. Specifically, the new law requires owners to build an eight foot fence with concrete base and fencing extending into the ground. The ordinance also requires a second fence around the first to protect the public from attack through the fence. All owners are subject to the requirements of the new law. Charles Samuels took the lead on this public safety issue.”

what an abuse of power. regardless of what was written, the law reads “no wolf/dog hybrids allowed – move outside of the city”
Most breeders will destroy any wolf-dog that exhibits aggressive behavior. An aggressive wolf-dog, like an aggressive German Shepherd or Jack Russel Terrier, is a product of its treatment. The law is a knee-jerk reaction to the word ‘wolf,’ and indicates an ignorance of the breed, which is recognized by the Kennel Association as Native American Indian Dog.
It’s unfortunate that Miccosukee is providing inaccurate information. Hybrids and NAID are distinct animals. Likewise, to say the law is a knee jerk reaction is false. A great deal of research took place after a hybrid attack, and Richmond followed a state law that found hybrids to be dangerous wild animals.
i own a wolfdog and i get tired of the neg on these animal now dont get me wrong you have good and bad dogs of any kind,but when people own these dogs you got to learn and get alot of info. my wolf is and has been socialized and meet dipeople and kids,sound and im still training him and loving it. hes loves people and he is two yrs old and very proctive and luvs to play all the time he is a very happy wolfdog, and how i know is he is not destructive. and i make sure he is walked 3 times day and i try to spend alot of time with him but he is a very good animal who is loved by nieghbors and family vry lucky but when people get these wonderful animals they need to realy read and learned before they get one once u unerstand them, there the best
