Gene Cox Opines on Fan of the Fan

RVANews has gathered the inestimable wisdom of NBC12 anchor Gene Cox in the Ask Gene Cox Oracle. Feeling self-reflective and taking the oracle for a test drive, I asked and Gene answered: Q: What do you think of Fan of the Fan? A: How come you never post anything??? That’s amazing!

“Do We Want to be a Great City?”

There’s an interesting, exciting article in the RTD entitled “Richmond looking beyond its slave-trading past”. Interesting because I am not so knowledgeable about Richmond’s full, dirty past and exciting because of what this dialogue portends for the future. Excerpts: “We’ve had a lot of dialogues for the sake of dialogue,” said Jonathan Zur, president and CEO [...]

Connecticut, or The Giant, as my kids like to call him, is the large, Native American sculpture which currently resides at The Diamond. Since the Flying Squirrels are coming to town, there’s a need to find Connecticut a new home. (btw – you can try out to be the new mascot this Saturday, along with [...]

Drove past Verbena around 8 last night and all the lights were off. Is this a bad sign? Also, their website looks to no longer be active. If this does mean the demise of Verbena, that’s too bad, I had a yummy meal there and I was looking forward to trying it again. UPDATE from [...]

VCU Gets ‘Real’ Police Chief

Various outlets, including the RTD, are reporting the news that John Venuti is leaving the Richmond Police Department after 25 years to take the helm at VCU’s Police Department.
