Car Towed? It’ll Cost You More
The RTD reports that the City Council voted to raise the fee for getting your car towed from $65 to $125. Judging by the number of tow trucks circling the Fan, this is bound to have an effect here.
The City Council voted 9-0 last night to raise the towing fee, which had been capped at $65 for the past 10 years. It also established that a violation of the city’s towing ordinance is a Class 1 misdemeanor, which carries penalties of up to 12 months in jail and $2,500 in fines.
Pay attention. Read the signs. Or don’t, at your own peril.
Wow, I didn’t realize the cost of running a towing business doubled sine 1999… those poor, poor wrecker services, they must have been suffering greatly.
