Driver Who Hits Cop Charged
An impaired driver side-swiped a Richmond Police officer early Sunday morning in the Fan. Said driver and his vehicle were stopped and apprehended shortly thereafter. The driver was charged with DUI and felony hit and run.
The officer, whose identity was not released, was dusting a car for fingerprints in the 700 block of North Harrison Street near Virginia Commonwealth University’s Monroe Campus. He was knocked down by the side-view mirror of an SUV about 3:45 a.m
This happened to a friend of mine who was not intoxicated and she was in prison for 2 years. Sounds like this particular driver is particularly screwed.
