New Mexican Restaurant Coming to Main

The spot that Cirrus once occupied at 1731 W. Main Street (at Allen) has been looking for a new restaurant tenant for awhile. Apparently, they’ve now found one:

Plaza Mexico

Plaza Mexico

If the sign is any indication, I think this place really will be authentic. Even if I’m not crazy about Mexican, I’m glad to welcome them to the neighborhood. It’s at least sure to be better than Moe’s/Chipotle/QDoba.

  3. Another Mexican restaurant?? I doubt it will compare with Little Mexico which is right around the corner from that location. Not to mention Qdoba on broad, Nacho Mamas in Cary town… do we really need another Mexican restaurant around here?

  4. Plaza Mexico opened today, according to the sign I saw yesterday. And I just noticed another Little Mexico (on Laurel near Broad). I say the more Mexican restaurants – and the fewer chain restaurants (e.g., Chipotle, ugh) – in the Fan, the better!

  5. I went last night – it was excellent. I had the burrito California w/steak and my husband had chicken soft tacos al pastor – both dishes had great flavor and more spiciness than the usual Mexican restaurant. They don’t have their alcohol license yet, but that is supposed to be coming in the next week or so. This may be my new favorite Mexican place!
